You do need to know – and we can show you
Measuring the performance of all aspects of your business brings big benefits. The easy way to do this is with KPIs.
Businesses that are growing, making a good profit and don’t have cash flow issues are pretty certain to be successful. However, businesses that also set KPIs and measure performance are usually highly successful – so much so that their owners can take a step back from running them, and enjoy a better life.
It is a Key Performance Indicator – allowing you to measure the performance of various aspects of your business such as systems, services and people.
- First you set some key goals, aimed at improving the running of your business. Let’s say, improved customer service.
- Next, you decide how to go about this. Let’s say you choose to improve the way your staff welcome customers.
- To know whether your plan worked and how well, you need to write a few KPIs. For example: how much your average sale increases while staff are using the new welcome; how frequently the customer returns to your store over this period; how long the customer stays in your store for each visit, and so on.
Why do you want to know? Because every system and person in your business should be performing at their best, and KPIs will tell you if this is so or not. If your KPIs confirm that your plans for improvement are working, then you’ll want to do more of them so that, ultimately, your profits rise. If it they’re not working, you can return to the drawing board and come up with fresh ideas.
This is just one simple example of how KPIs can work. Let us help set KPIs for your business and discuss with you how these can be reflected in your bottom line.
