Jatin is a Chartered Accountant with a difference for the past six years he has spent part of every week doing voluntary work in the kitchens of a South Auckland hospice, washing dishes and carrying out other basic chores. Jatin is also supporting volunteers at Cancer Society's monthly Pot Luck Dinner in Auckland. It’s a far cry from his day job with Patel Pike, where he’s an acknowledged expert in the field of business finance – so respected, in fact, that business brokers from around the North Island refer their clients to him. He is also an authority on MYOB, and has trained more than 400 business owners in its use each year over the past nine years.
Jatin joined the Patel Pike accounting team in 2000, and loves the challenges of his job. As well as business advice and MYOB training, he specialises in tax matters. But, most of all, he enjoys obtaining loan approval for clients with low finances, and helping their businesses grow.
Born in India, he moved to New Zealand in 1993 and worked for five years as a Financial Controller for a building supplies company. He has a strong commitment to the community, and is Treasurer/Consultant for various organisations, including NZCPS. Jatin still teaches MYOB and has no plans to stop his voluntary work at the hospice. In his spare time, he enjoys relaxing at home with his wife and their two “princesses” (daughters) as well as gardening, playing badminton and walking.
